YouTube Discord RPC
A browser extension + Python server pair that shows the YouTube video you are watching as Discord Rich Presence — with details and timestamps.
What it is
The browser extension watches your YouTube tab and reports playback to a small local Python server, which pushes it to Discord as Rich Presence. What you watch shows up on your profile — with the video's details and timestamps.
Highlights
- Browser extension captures playback
- Local Python server bridges to Discord
- Rich Presence with video details and timestamps
- No account linking — runs locally
Why I built it
I wanted my Discord profile to show what I was actually watching, with proper timestamps. The browser extension + local server split keeps it simple and private.
